LAS VEGAS

Located in the state of Nevada, Las Vegas is an internationally renowned major resort city, known primarily for its gambling, shopping, fine dining, entertainment, and nightlife. It is the 25th-most populous city in the United States and the  Las Vegas Valley metropolitan area is the largest within the greater Mojave Desert. 

The city bills itself as the Entertainment Capital of the World, and is famous for its luxurious and extremely large casino-hotels. Las Vegas is the sixth-most visited city in the U.S., after New York City, Miami, Los Angeles, Orlando, and San Francisco.

• Visit the Strip: The Strip is the main tourist area in Las Vegas. It is home to many of the city’s largest and most famous casinos, hotels, and restaurants.
• See a show: Las Vegas is home to a wide variety of shows, including Cirque du Soleil performances, Broadway musicals, and comedy shows.
